After only 11 years of combined service, the loco was scrapped inFebruary of 1959. Specs - serial #74038, class C-16, 52" drivers, 220 psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, engine wt of 247,000 lb and tractive effort of 62,932 lb. Description:  This Alco-Cooke 0-8-0 yard switcher was built in March of 1923 originally as Pere Marquette #1315. The loco was absorbed into the C&O roster in 1947 as CO 0-8-0 #345. The loco lasted 28 years before being scrapped in October of 1951. Specs - serial #64244, PM class S-1, C&O class C-13, 51" drivers (PM). 52" drivers (C&O), 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x28" cylinders, engine wt of 206,500 lb and tractive effort of 45,200 lb.. No date was given for the photo taken by R.D. Patton. The or location was listed as Ganley's Ridge, WV but I can't confirm this location. Can anyone help with this one? Jonathan Spurlock has found Handley, WV, as having several of the landmarks in a couple of photos that were marked as Ganley's Ridge, so will use that location until someone knows exactly where Ganley's Ridge is.

Description:  Chesapeake & Ohio 0-8-0 #225 takes a spin on the turntable at Peach Creek, WV. Built by Alco-Schenectady in 8/1930 originally as Hocking Valley 0-8-0 #225, it was absorbed into the C&O roster and renumbered CO 0-8-0 #225. No final disposition is known currently - presumedly scrapped sometime between 1954-57 as were many other 0-8-0's. Description:  Originally built as Hocking Valley 0-8-0 #232 by Alco-Schenectady in 8/1930, it was later absorbed into the C&O roster and renumbered CO 0-8-0 #232. One of the last 0-8-0's to go, the loco was scrapped in the spring of 1961 at Richmond, VA. Description:  Sadly, Chesapeake & Ohio 0-8-0 #235 is sitting in a scrap line with its name and number now crossed out. Oroginally built by Alco-Schenectady in August of 1930 as Hocking Valley 0-8-0 #235, it was later absorbed into the C&O roster and renumbered CO 0-8-0 #235.The final disposition is currently unknown but presumedly scrapped between 1954-57. Specs - serial #68462, class C-16. 52" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, wngine wt of 240,000 lb and tractive effort of 57,200 lb. No date, location or photographer was listed for this photo so approximates were used to post it.
