Originally built by Alco-Schenectady,in August of 1930 as Hocking Valley 0-8-0 #230, it was later absorbed into the C&O roster and renumbered CO 0-8-0 #230. According to the ALCo records, it was awaiting disposition in July of 1953 - presumedly scrapped sometime between 1954-57. Specs - serial #68457, class C-16. 52" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, wngine wt of 240,000 lb and tractive effort of 57,200 lb. This is an R.D. Patton photo. |
