| With a tender full of coal and the steam up, Chicago, Burlingon & Quincy 2-8-2 #5331 is ready for its next assignment. This 2-8-2 Mikado was built by Baldwin in June of 1917 as CBQ #5331 (serial #45762, class O-3). The loco served for nearly 37 years before being sold for scrap in April of 1954. Original specs - 64" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 28x32" cylinders, engine wt of 314,700 lb and tractive force of 66,640 lb. Unfortunately no exact day in th 1949 or any photographer was listed for the photo. |
