| Here is another view of the face-to-face meeting of the old and the new - NP 4-6-0 ten wheeler $410 vs NP EMD FT unit. Baldwin built this 4-6-0 Vauclain compound ten wheeler in April of 1902 as Northern Pacific #1355 (serial #20308). It was simplified later and reclassified as S-4. After serving nearly 56 years, the loco was scrapped in November of 1958 at the South Tacoma Yard, Washingon. Since no date, location or photographer was listed for the photo, an approximate date and location were used. |
