| This massive 4-6-6-4 Challenger type steam locomotive was built by Alco-Schenectady in January of 1943 as NP 5140 (serial #70154). The loco provided excellent power for long ore drags until it was retired and scrapped in September of 1959 at the Brainerd, MN, yard. Specs - 70" drivers, impressive 260 psi boiler pressure, four 23x32" cylinders, massive engine wt of 644,000 lb and impressive tractive force of 106,890 lb.
