DMIR 2-8-8-4 #233 - Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range         
Sadly, this photo appears to be the dead/scrap line at Proctor that the massive Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range 2-8-8-4 Yellowstone #233 is sitting in when Burdell L. Bulgrin took this photo. Built by Baldwin in January of 1943 (serial #64712), it lasted for almost 19 years of heavy duty ore hauling before being sold for scrap in 1962. Specs - 63" drivers, impressive 240 psi boiler pressure, 26x32" cylinders, massive engine wt of 699,700 lb and massive tractive force of 140,000 lb. The photographer was Burdell L. Bulgrin.
