Description:
Originally built by ALCo-Brooks in October of 1912 as Illinois Central 4-6-2 Pacific #1099 (serial #52148). it was rebuilt and renumbered to IC #2086 in July of 1942. The loco continued until being sold for scrap in May of 1955 after 43 years of service. This photo dated 12/11/1955 still shows it sitting in the scrap line at the Proviso yard after is sale date. Rebuilt specs - 61" drivers, 215 psi boiler pressure, 25x26" cylinders, engine weight of 248,733 lb, tractive effort of 48,683 lb. No photographer listed.
