| Description: |
Baldwin built this beautiful, solid 2-10-2 Santa Fe type steam locomotive in May of 1915 as CBQ #6127 (serial #42088). Starting with 6126-6135, the locos were built with lightweight alloy steel reciprocating parts which eliminated the need for counterweights. The loco served until retired and being sold for scrap in November of 1953 after nearly 38 years of dedicated service. Original specs - 59" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 30x32" cylinders, engine wt of 377,100 lb and tractive force of 83,000 lb. No exact day in 1939 was listed nor was the photographer for this photo. |

Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 2-10-2 Class M-2-A 6127, date, location, and photographer unknown, print by Tom Klinger, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 6127 was built by Baldwin in 1915 (c/n 42088) and sold for scrap in November 1953. According to the CB!Q Locomotive Assignment Sheet dated February 1, 1952, number 6127 was assigned to the Brookfield Division. |
