Description:  A crew member approaches the solid looking Milwaukee Road 2-8-2 Mikado #468 while it sits in the Milwaukee yard. Baldwin, 8/1923, nee-Chicago, Milwaukee & St Paul 2-8-2 #8368 (serial #56985, class L-2b) > renumbered in June of 1938 to MILW #468. It served for nearly 28 years before being scrapped in September of 1951. Specs - 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine wt of 292,770 lb and tractive force of 54,723 lb. This is an R. Donald Ross photo and now part of my collection.

Description:  Sadly, this appears to be a scrap line that Milwaukee Road 2-8-2 Mikado #468 is in now. This may very well be the last photo ever taken of it before the scrapper's torch does it in. Although the date on the photo is June of 1952, it may not have been scrapped according to date in the Baldwin records. Baldwin, 8/1923, nee-Chicago, Milwaukee & St Paul 2-8-2 #8368 (serial #56985, class L-2b) > renumbered in June of 1938 to MILW #468.
