PRR 7092, EFS-17M, 1960 |
| Description: |
17th Street. Here is an original photo that I took from the 17th Street Bridge in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in the Spring of 1960. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #7092 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All are EFS-17M's built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7092 is an EFS-17M built in November of 1956. In this context, they're about to pass under the bridge with a mixed-cargo freight train on its way up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. Also visible in the middle distance are the Passenger Station its Trainshed. |
