Former Luxapella Valley unit
Description:
Former Luxapella Valley GP38 is seen after some major mechanical work at the former Bayline shops in Panama City FL. It is enroute to the paint shop on the CIRR at Cedar Springs where it will get the GWI corporate orange/black treatment. It spent many years on the GSWR. While at the shops in Panama City it's short hood was lowered. If I remember correctly, this unit began life on the original Norfolk Southern as a low hood unit. When Southern bought the NS they put high hoods on these units. Now the hood has been lowered back to it's original look.
