Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Fred R. Kern that was taken just East of the Brick Yard Crossing in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 23 July 1955. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5860 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All are EP-20's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5860 was constructed in February of 1948. In this context, this A-B-A set is pulling Train #22 down the Allegheny Mountains and will soon stop at the Altoona Passenger Station on their way to Harrisburg and points East.
