12th Street. Here is an original photo that I took from the 12th Street Footbridge in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in January of 1966. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8606, an APS-24MS built by the American Locomotive Company in December of 1955 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. It's about to pass under the Footbridge on its way back to East Altoona, after making a helper/pusher run up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and back. |
