| This sharp looking compound Chicago, Burlington & Quincy 4-4-2 Atlantic type #2565 was built by Burnham, Wms & Co (Baldwin predecessor) in September of 1904 originally as 4 cylinder compound CBQ #2709 (serial #24705, class P-3). It was simplified and renumbered to CBQ #2565 in 1924. The loco served well for nearly 38 years before being retired in June of 1942 and presumedly scrapped. No photographer was listed for the photo. |
