| Starting to show some age is Chicago, Burlington & Quincy 2-10-4 "Colorado" type steam locomotive #6317. On the CBQ roster the locos were referred to as "Colorado" type loco, not "Texas". This 2-10-4 "Colorado" type steam locomotive was built by Baldwin in November of 1927 as Chicago, Burlington & Quincy #6317 (serial #60281, class M-4). To increase speed, the loco was rebuilt in December of 1939 to the M-4-A class. After nearly 34 years of dedicated service, the loco was unceremoniously sold for scrap in May of 1961 after diesels had firmly taken over the duties. Rebuilt specs - 64" drivers, impressive 250 psi boiler pressure, 28x32" cylinders, engine wt of 504,570 lb, and tractive force of 83,300 lb.
