| This beautiful long powerhouse of a locomotive was built by Baldwin in May of 1917 as CBQ 2-10-2 #6137 (serial #45582). Continuing with 6136-6145, the locos were built with lightweight alloy steel reciprocating parts which eliminated the need for counterweights. The loco served until retired and being sold for scrap in July of 1953 after nearly 36 years of dedicated service. Original specs - 59" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 30x32" cylinders, engine wt of 377,100 lb and tractive force of 83,000 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo. |
