| Looking sharp and powerful as it sat in a Kansas City yard, the 4-8-2 Mountain type steam loco lived up to its image in every way. It was powerful and fast for passenger and freight service. The loco was bullt by Baldwin in August of 1925. After nearly 27 years of dedicated service, the loco was sold for scrap in April fo 1952. Original Specs - serial #58608, class T-54, 69" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 28x28" cylinders, engine weight of 320,444 lb, tractive effort of 54,085 lb. This is a C.E. Winters photo. |
