| 2/10/2025 Mechums River. VA. CSX 3284 along with one other locomotive lead a relatively short empty grain train back west over the Alleghananies. A typical empty grain train requires 4-6 locomotives to climb the Afton Mountain Grade to the Shenandoah Valley. My guess they were emptying out the yards in Newport News in the face of an advancing snow storm from the southwest. |
