The bridge at Carpenter's Bluff  Contributor's Pick!
This is the former Kansas Oklahoma & Gulf bridge spanning the Red River between Oklahoma and Texas. It was opened in 1910 on the Missouri Oklahoma & Gulf between Durant OK and Denison TX. MO&G became KO&G in 1919 and the route was abandoned a year after the 1964 merger into T&P in favor of MKT trackage rights between the same points. The structure has been used ever since for road traffic. This view is from the Texas bank looking roughly north.
