| Description: |
Former Gulf, Mobile & Ohio caboose 2879 was on the Mississippi Export at Moss Point, Mississippi on 13 April 1958. The MSE purchased it the next day and then renovated it as their number 33. The car had been built as Mobile & Ohio X170 in March 1914 and was renumbered 2879 after the M&O merged with the Gulf Mobile & Northern to form the GM&O. It was from the M&O X30 - X202 series, built between 1896 and 1928, and 57 of these cars became GM&O 2847-2903. |
