Description:
Great looking 1923 Alco-Schenectady built Mikado with pressure up and ready to roll. Specs - 63" drivers, 205 psi boiler pressure, 25x32" cylinders, tractive effort of 55,300 lb. The class was transferred to the NYC by 1950-51, thus off the IHB roster. R.H. Kennedy photo

IHB 2-8-2 #409
Description:
Thanks to the research efforts of ChuckZeiler, he has clarified the confusion from having two #409 on the IHB roster. This one was buiilt by Alco-Schenectady in August of 1923. In 1950, the loco was transferred to the NYC roster as their #1487. The loco served the NYC until retirement in 1955. Specifics - serial #64733, class H-5t, 63# drivers, 25x32" cylinders.
