Description:  Delivered to Southern Pacific as B39-8E in September 1987, this GE would keep this number until the end of Espee in 1996. The first change would come in April 1999 when this unit was painted in full UP colors, renumbered 5643, and reclassified a B40-8. A second renumbering would occur almost exactly five years later in February 2004 when this GE was renumbered to 1834. This GE would operate a few more years for UP then stored in Houston where 1834 resides alongside other idled B40-8s today (as of 2013) as UP retires and auctions off these high horsepower B-Boats.
