Description:
Originally built as Illinois Central 4-6-2 Pacific #1124 (serial #53206). the loco was rebuilt and renumbered in March of 1942 as IC #2065 seen here in the roundhouse. According to the back of the photo, the location was either in Dubuque, IA or Waterloo, IA. I lean toward Dubuque. The loco was eventually sold to Tennessee Central in March of 1943 and disappeared from their roster by January of 1953. Rebuilt specs - boiler pressure of 215 psi, 61" drivers, 25x26" cylinders, new weight of 248,733 lb, and new tractive effort of 48,683 lb. No date or photographer was listed for the photo.
