A southbound CSX K682 runs south on the Northern Branch through what at one time was the Susquehanna Transfer station between the Erie Railroad's Northern Branch and the New York Susquehanna & Western. Luck would have it that a Susquehanna Trailways bus was driving by overhead on the NJ-495 viaduct.
Building America with a side order of Freedom in some sweet afternoon golden light that even stays crunchy in milk! CSX K682 passes through the Greenville section of Jersey City as it rounds the curve at CP-Green with some bright Armor Yellow on the point. The train is closing in on its destination of Port Newark, NJ were a Conrail crew will take control of the train and move it down to Motiva's ethanol facility in Seawaren, NJ.

NS 3208, a former Southern Railway high short hood SD40-2 leads a mixed freight over Hartwell Lake near Toccoa, GA. There is a little something for everyone in this shot, a high hood SD40-2 leading long hood forward, a SD67M, an ex-Conrail SD40-2, a widecab GE and an SD70M-2. Note that Hartwell Lake is very low in this picture, I remember hearing there was a drought going on at the time I was there taking these pictures.
